These terms apply when you use Slova: the website at getslova.com, the web app at app.getslova.com and any Slova app we release later (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, joining the waitlist or buying a subscription, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Slova is operated by a sole proprietor based in Türkiye (“Slova”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@getslova.com.
2. What Slova is
Slova is a language-learning service. It offers a structured course of short lessons written by our team, and tools that use artificial intelligence (AI) to build learning material around topics you choose, such as vocabulary sets, verb tables, reading texts, audio and practice exercises.
Slova is a general learning tool. It is not affiliated with any examination body, it does not prepare you for a specific exam, and it does not issue certificates. Level estimates, including the free level test, are guidance only.
We keep improving the Service, so features may be added, changed or removed. Some features are marked “Coming soon” and are not yet available.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Slova. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, and they accept these terms on your behalf.
- You sign in with a third-party account (for example Google). Keep access to that account secure; you are responsible for activity under your Slova account.
- Give us accurate information and keep your email address current, because we use it for receipts and important notices.
- One account is for one person. Do not share, sell or transfer it.
4. Free and paid plans
Part of Slova is free. A paid subscription unlocks the full course and higher limits on the AI tools. What each plan includes and its current price are shown at checkout before you pay.
The AI tools are subject to usage limits on every plan, because each generation has a real cost. The limits that apply to your plan are shown in the app.
We may change at any time:
- the usage limits of each plan;
- which features each plan includes;
- the AI models and providers that power the tools. We choose them, and we may switch between them for quality, cost, availability or safety.
If a change significantly reduces what your paid plan includes, we will tell you before it applies, and you can cancel before your next renewal.
5. Payments through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries about payments and handles returns. When you buy a subscription, you buy it from Paddle, and Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to the purchase.
- Prices are shown in your local currency where available. Paddle adds or includes sales tax or VAT as required where you live, and the checkout shows the final amount before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (weekly or yearly, as chosen) and are charged to the payment method you used, until you cancel.
- If a plan includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. The checkout states the trial length and the first charge date.
- If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you by email at least 14 days before it applies to your next renewal. You can cancel before then if you do not accept the new price.
- If a payment fails, Paddle may retry it. If it still fails, your account moves to the free plan.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, from the link in your Paddle receipt email, from your account in the app, or by writing to info@getslova.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. Your saved progress and material stay in your account.
7. Refunds
Refunds are described in our refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits a right to cancel or to a refund that the law where you live gives you.
8. AI-generated content
- Material created by the AI tools is generated automatically. It can contain mistakes, unnatural phrasing or incorrect translations. Check anything important with another source, and do not rely on Slova for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
- You are responsible for what you ask the tools to create. The same prompt may produce different results for different people.
- Subject to these terms, you may use the material you generate for your own learning, including sharing it with a teacher or friends. It is not for resale.
- To run the Service, your prompts are sent to the AI providers listed in our privacy policy. Do not enter sensitive personal information about yourself or others into the AI tools.
- We do not use your content to train AI models.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Slova to harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone;
- create sexual content involving minors, sexual or degrading content about real people, content that promotes violence or hatred, or images meant to look like real, identifiable people;
- try to get around usage limits, access controls or payment, including by opening several accounts;
- scrape, copy or resell the course or the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
- reverse engineer the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or disrupt it with automated traffic.
We may remove content, limit features or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.
10. Our content and yours
The Slova course, its lessons, illustrations, audio, design, software and brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them through the Service for your own learning while your account is active.
You keep whatever rights you have in the text you type and the files you upload. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the Service for you.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using Slova and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to info@getslova.com. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a subscription with Paddle, so please cancel it first. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; if we close a paid account without such a reason, we will refund the unused part of your current period.
12. Warranties and liability
We work to keep Slova accurate and available, but the Service is provided “as is” and may sometimes be interrupted or contain errors. We do not promise that you will reach a particular level or result.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. We will post the new version here with its date and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Slova after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel and stop using the Service.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts or before the consumer bodies available to you. Please contact us first at info@getslova.com; most problems can be solved quickly that way.
